THE DESERT

HISTORY BEHInD THE NAME-

Like many extinct mining towns and districts that are located throughout the landscape of Nevada, The Seven Troughs Mining District has a distinct and short history that helped establish the livelihood of our state.

Gold was first discovered in this area in 1905, and in 1907 four mining camps were established that made up the Seven Troughs Mining District. The towns did very well and produced almost two million dollars in gold between 1908 and 1921. Then, like many other mining towns, the decline started. By the 1920’s Seven Troughs was nearly abandoned. In 1940 mining and milling operations came to an end and the towns faded away, back into the desert.

Our name reflects our deep roots to the state of Nevada and honors those who came to our state seeking fortune and independence.

we make art... and spirits-

Seven Troughs Distilling Company is a craft distillery focused on creating high-quality spirits utilizing local ingredients.

We produce our brands from locally made products in small batches to ensure quality. Our corn and barley come from Yerington and Gardnerville, Nevada. We utilize a mid-19th century fermentation and distillation process to manufacturer moonshine, rum, vodka, gin, and bourbon. Each one of our spirits have a complex and rich story to back up their unique flavor. Stop by and ask us to give you a tour and meet the artists pouring their heart and soul into their latest masterpiece.

All of our different products have a unique story and tie to the state of Nevada. Visit our Spirits page to learn more.
